Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, primarily utilising flatbed lorries for delivery. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Responsibilities
- Trunking between sites.
- Safely operate flatbed lorries across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times and minimise fuel consumption.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle logs in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations during operations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles.
- Demonstrable knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK.
- Prior experience in delivery driving is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with route planning and navigation tools is advantageous.
- A valid UK driving licence suitable for heavy goods vehicles (HGV) is essential.
